This is Hogan's new shtick. He is a reaching fool. He will reach for anything. Which now means that I have to be aware of everything! And by everything I mean including my eyeball...
He is smiling so hard it looks like it hurts...

Chillin' With A Brown Eyed Girl
Yesterday we went over to Ellery's pad and test drove all of her new toys. That girl's got it goin' on...Hogan enjoyed cracking out in her Jumpy Discus of Wonderment. I have decided that I am definitely going to invest in one of these the next time we get off island. Looks like this stimulus contraption may actually allow me to get some things done....

A Man Of Many Hats
I was cleaning (a term I use loosely) out Hogan's closet and found some hats that at one time I thought his little peanut head would never grow into. Low and behold, his head not only grew in, but is on it's way of growing out of most of them. Some are winter hats that fit now that it is Spring (another term I use loosely...) and at the rate he is going, I am sure will not fit by the time Winter rears it's ugly hat head again. Some are Summer hats that are looking like the perfect fit, but by the time Summer is actually here will be a little snug. Looks like we are on the hunt for the perfect Springtime bonnet. I ordered a few American Apparel knot hats, which I have to say is indeed Hogan's signature hat, but they are only "one size", and here's hoping that it is the right "one size" for his size noggin...
This is his "tugboat cap'n that just reeled in the big one" look...
This is his "Knox Jolie-Pitt" caught in the flashbulbs of the paparazzi...
I'm not sure what this is... His dad bought this one, but whatever it is, he appears to like it...
This is his "Brazilian Eskimo " which sounds like an oxymoron, but actually works...
And finally his "Monkey Doo sitting in poo". A look that he might have to adorn even if it is 70 degrees and he has a sweatstache...

Bottom Teeth Blues
Well, the past couple of days have been quite a challenge for us around here in the Teles household. The summer season is right around the corner, and Carlos is back to working long hours. He gets a little "Hogan time" early in the morning when they bond over the bottle, but we are in bed and mostly asleep by the time he gets home. Needless to say, I feel a bit like a single mom as of late...
To make matters even more stressful, the Hogie man is working on getting some chompers. He is slobbering like a damn bulldog, and shoving anything he can get his grubby little fingers on in his mouth. He manages to crack a few smiles and giggles throughout the day, but his general disposition has been one of discomfort and sad little faces like these:
On top of new teeth, he has also been experimenting with a few new hairdos which have also made him a little bummed... poor buddy...

Sunday Snapshots
Carlos sold my dream car (I'm still bummed about my little VW Cabrio...) and headed off island today to look at trucks, leaving Hogan and I without wheels. The weather outside is sunny but deceivingly cold, and our morning has been filled with making applesauce and webcaming with Grandma Molly... that's a whole 'nother story...
Anyway, while Hogan was napping I was tinkering around with my camera, and experimenting with some different settings. My photo knowledge is super old school, so I am always in a state of trying to figure out the whole "world's gone digital" thing.
I just threw this one in because this face comes with this ear piercing squeal and uncontrollable flailing of limbs...
And look at all the hair he's gotten lately... It grows in a side swoop all the way around his head?...

A Walk with Summer...
Today was such a beautiful day, and if I didn't know any better I would say that this is the beginning of warmer, sunny, lazy days... however, it will probably snow tomorrow, so I am just going to keep my mouth shut and say today was such a beautiful day...
Hogan and I celebrated the sun by taking a walk down State Beach with some friends followed by a trip to the Dairy Queen for a Midnight Truffle blizzard. Truly a fabulous Friday...

Earth Mamas Can Suck It!
When I found out I was pregnant the ladies at the thrift store, where I do all my shopping, gave me this Johnny Jump Up contraption. I smiled and thanked them, and then promptly chucked it into the back of my car trying to figure out where I could dispose of it without hurting any feelings. Being of the school that less is more, I figured I wasn't going to need all of the hoopla and gadgetry that goes along with having a kid. I was never going to use a pacifier, there were going to be no plastic toys, and T.V. was definitely out of the picture. After all, I had been to Africa where kids could sit in the dirt and play with a stick all day. Well, what I know now is that I didn't know jack. Thank God I didn't get rid of this thing!
And to make matters worse, he is dangling in the doorway watching T.V. Yep, you read right, T.V.! He is fixated on Baby Einstein World Music DVD, and sometimes he watches it twice in a row! Oh how quickly my opinions about what kind of mom I wanted to be have changed. Now, at the slightest peep, I am reaching for the pacifier and the remote, and we have never been happier...
